Treasurer Tim Orrange called the meeting to order at 8:40am.  Board Officers present: Floriana Martinez, Tim Orrange, Nely Martinez, Amanda Kleidermacher, Bruce Barham, Mary Porges, and Toni Anderson.    

Agenda item #1 – Welcome – Tim Orrange, Treasurer
    -     Welcomed the parents present on behalf of PTA Board, Lisa Kauffman could not attend meeting because she was on a business trip  
-    Reviewed and Approved 11/08 General Membership Meeting Minutes.  Motion to approved minutes by Patricia Cruz and seconded by Ron Kauffman

Agenda item # 2 – Treasurer’s Report – Tim Orrange
-    Distributed annual budgets comparing 2007 vs. 2008, November vs. December
-    $22,000+ balance, a little under budget, $4,000 in Pay Pal, 2 1/2% in Money Market, missed catalog sales targets
-    Tim distributed and presented revised budget, Motion to approve revised budget by Carolyn West and seconded by Suzie Sponder

Agenda item # 3 – Membership Campaign Update – Floriana Martinez
-    343 total members, over 5% increase from last year
-    8 classes qualified for 100% membership ice cream party campaign

Agenda item # 4 – Special Events / Fundraising Update – Nely Martinez and Amanda Kleidermacher
-    ZUCA promotion flyer approved and will be distributed with backpacks, ZUCA orders will arrive before holidays
-    Catalog items will also arrive before holidays, may have some returned checks, will identify good catalog for future campaigns that has peanut free products

Agenda item # 5 – Other
-    PTA vs. PTSA for student involvement, get middle school participation, need to contact State office for PTSA info
-    Holiday Video – no purchases last year vs. 300 sold 3 years ago, Bruce Barham will absorb cost to produce and edit, cost approximately $10 for first 25 DVDs, more DVDs brings the price down, send Room Parent e-mail announcing Holiday DVD, price will be $20, Room Parents will take orders and collect money
-    Recycling – juice pouch recycling will continue, education process, can wear “Green” T shirt on Fridays, essays will be read at am announcements, Carolyn West presented a detailed Green Team budget plan, $2,868 needed for Green Team effort
-    Accelerated Reader end of year field trip allocation of $500 not enough. $2,000 from music will be added to budget for field trip

Agenda item # 6 – Principal’s Report – Principal Carmen Garcia
-    Principal Garcia could not attend meeting due to it being the first day of the Science Fair


The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 am.
