Minutes – Board Meeting

Wednesday December 16, 2009

President Lisa Kauffman called the meeting to order at 8:35am.  Board Officers Amanda Kleidermacher, Tim Orrange, Mary Porges, Lina Spalding-Ramsay and Bruce Barham were present.  Committee Chair Joan Silverstein was also present.

Agenda item #1 – Welcome and Updates – Lisa Kauffman

• Very short meeting today, need to end at 9am
• Holiday bonus checks have been distributed, same amounts as last year, $75 for office staff, $200 to Vertudes, $50 to school janitors, $200 to cafeteria supervisor, $50 to staff cafeteria, $75 to security staff
• January meeting will be 2^nd week of January, possibly Monday the 11^th, will send out revised calendar
• Focus will be Gala and Black history month upon return from winter break
• Park security is still an issue – broken glass, etc.
• By-laws committee needed, must be updated and voted upon every 3 years, end of January 2010 is end of 3^rd year, need to get the word out that we are forming small by-laws committee and who would like to join
• Required reading book exchange effort beginning next year, Lisa will talk to Principal Garcia, open house would be a good forum
• Nominating committee needs to be formed for March meeting, voting for new slate in May

• Amanda will look into when AR license expires
