Minutes – Board Meeting

President Lisa Kauffman called the meeting to order at 8:35am.  Board Members present – Bruce Barham, Tim Orrange, Floriana Martinez, Nely Martinez, Amanda Kliedermacher, Mary Porges, and Toni Anderson.  

Agenda item # 1 – Treasurer’s Update – Tim Orrange
-    $14,000 more or less balance with $4,100 in Pay Pal
-    Bruce will reset PTA e-mail address password and forward it to Tim, no one checks e-mail, needed for Pay Pal access

Agenda item # 2 – Gala Update – Floriana Martinez and Amanda Kliedermacher
-    Need to sell advertizing for brochure
-    Principal Garcia to e-mail teachers to confirm who is going for free ticket
-    Raffle sales for 4 United Airline tickets and Macy’s 5 piece luggage set has started, sales in front of cafeteria from 8-8:45 am, 1 ticket for $50, 3 for $100, position someone in office may be a good idea or Wednesdays at 2pm
-    Opening bids will be a 1/3 the cost of the item
-    Bruce will research raffle ticket template
-    Tim – dice roll will cost $500 for $25,000 insurance, voted not to include dice roll at Gala
-    Pictures will be taken for sale
-    7 dancers will cost $1,200 with a jungle themed show

Agenda item # 3 – Nominating Committee – Lisa Kauffman
-    5 member committee needed to find officers for coming school year
-    Committee needed by march (3/4) meeting
-    Committee Chairs also needed
-    Monica Duran and Toni Porro have volunteered to participate and organize Nominating Committee
-    Other Nominating Committee possibilties are Tess, Leda, Barbara Gelber, Deanna Anderson, Donna Carter, etc.

Agenda item # 4 – Black History Month Update – Charessse Chester
-    $400 raised by T-Shirt sales, selling for $10 ($6.50 cost)
-    Ordering less pizzas

Agenda item # 5 –Updates – Lisa Kauffman
-    Calendars are now paperless via AMK8 website
-    We have a Butterfly person, distribution via Room Parents
-    Flyers can only be posted on 2 bulletin boards in the school
-    Opportunity for Macy’s charity event on 2/28, $5 per ticket

Agenda item # 6 – Other
-    Suzie – Shop to Earth / Shop to Earn is an e-Commerce opportunity, vendor determines what we make , does not cost us anything, question if Pay Pal can be used, more research into this outlet needed
