President, Margueritte Ramos, called the meeting to order at 7:50 a.m. Board Members present included April Bolet, Monica Duran, Suzie Sponder, Toni Anderson, Douglas Labrozzi, Assistant Principal Barbara Garcia, Principal Carmen Garcia,

NEW BUSINESS

Agenda item #1 – Breakdown of moneys generated at the Meet and Greet.

PTA Membership as of date is 129.

Uniform sales $6847

Pizza and drinks $ 352

Agenda item #2 – Membership Drive

The drive will run from September 1^st to October 1^st

Spanish v. Portuguese Tracks

Membership calculations will be based on percentages

Principal Garcia stated that the flier needs to be approved and logo placed before circulation.

Agenda item #3 – Room Parents

We need to e-mail the info form to Principal Garcia for approval

Agenda item #4 – Fund-raising Updates for Open House on Sep 5

There will be designated information areas throughout the school.

There will be an time adjustment for the first PTA General Meeting due to the fact that Open House is scheduled for that same day.

Readers Digest has not been paid (audit to sort out what needs to be paid)

Agenda item #5 – Communications

A PTA website will be created with links to the different items of interest.

Agenda item #6 – Art

We are requesting that the children receive one full hour of art instead of the half hour they are currently receiving.

Agenda item #7 – MDC afterschool program

Principal Garcia stated that at the present time MDC and AMK-8 are at the stage of exchanging forms to start an afterschool music program at AMK-8. She said she is also looking into their hip-hop program.

Agenda item #8 – Healthy Kids/Healthy Lifestyle

Looking implementing hop-scotch and baseball.

Agenda item #9 – Motion to Adjourn by April Bolet. Monica Duran seconds.
