Your Ada Merritt PTA was recognized in 2 award categories with honorable mentions at the Miami Dade County Annual PTA Recognition Dinner, held May 27th 2009.  This is something our school community should all feel tremendous pride in.  We were recognized out of over 300 schools in our county!
 
We received an honorable mention in the category of "Standard of Excellence" for a local PTA Unit.  This was the top award category of the whole year! 
 
Additionally, we received an honorable mention in the category of "Program of Impact" for our Earth Day initiative.  A special thanks to Suzie Sponder for her vision, and the whole team of volunteers who have helped make this now annual event so spectacular! 
 
Additionally, we were also recognized for growing our membership by more than 5% over last year, when most PTA's had a drop in membership!  Thanks to Floriana Martinez for her leadership and the team of volunteers that helped us with our membership drive.
